We look to exploit diverse strategies of teaching, learning, motivation and tracking so that all students are able to access the understanding and knowledge needed to prepare them effectively for examination and beyond.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and suitably qualified teacher of English and it is anticipated that the successful candidate will contribute to A Level English Literature as well as GCSE English. This temporary post has become available to cover a period of sabbatical leave. The department currently offers A levels in English Literature, English Language and the English Literature / Language course as well as GCSE English. In total we cater for over 400 students. Our A level provision is amongst the highest achieving in the college with the department regularly achieving a value added score of ALPS 2. The results of the GCSE English students were 18% higher than the national average in 2023.

There is the option to incorporate the GCSE English Adult Education course into this contract, for an additional 5 hours per week (2.5 hours would be delivered in the evening). To be successful, you will have a relevant degree and a recognised teaching qualification. Applications from ECTs are also welcome.

An opportunity has arisen for a skilful and energetic practitioner to lead our successful Chemistry team. The Chemistry Department consists of one full-time member of staff and two part-time teachers one of whom also acts as Laboratory Technician. It is a lively department and services both IB and A level Chemistry. We are actively involved in many projects. The department runs the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge (C3L6) in Yr1 and the RSC Chemistry Olympiad in Yr2. In addition, we run the Analytical Competition run by the Royal Society of Chemistry and offer the Cambridge Chemistry Race both in Yr1. We have strong links with both the local universities and Southampton University too.

To be successful, you will have a passion for working with young people with a relevant degree, experience, and a recognised teaching qualification.
