Access to Higher Education (Humanities & Social Sciences) - £3,022

Access to Higher Education (Health Studies & Social Care) - £3,384

Registration Fee

A Registration Fee of £145.00 is payable per course.

Materials Deposit

All students are required to pay £60 to cover the costs of materials and books. You will be refunded £50 at the end of the course (£10 for postage, paper costs etc).

Fee Remission

You may be entitled to fee remission if you are aged 19-23 and do not already have a full Level 3 qualification. Information available on request.

Advanced Learner Loan

Students may be eligible to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan . These loans help you pay the fees charged by approved colleges and training providers in England. Most learners at Level 3 will qualify for these loans from the UK Government. It’s easy to apply, your household income is not taken into account and there is no credit check. You pay back your loan (plus interest) when you finish your Access course and earn more than £21,000 a year. Your loan will be ‘written off’ if you go on to complete a higher education course. This means you would not have to repay it. For further information or to apply for a loan, visit student finance at www.gov.uk/advanced-learner-loan

Bursary Fund

You may also be eligible for money from the Advanced Learner Loan Bursary Fund if you need help with costs while studying, e.g. childcare, travel or trips related to your course. You need to apply to Varndean College directly for the Bursary Fund. You can apply when you have received a letter confirming your Advanced Learner Loan. See our financial support pages for details. Application forms will be available in July 2018.
