Additional Support

About Additional Support

Additional Support is a supportive environment where our team of Learning Support Assistants work with students to achieve their potential.

We have experience working with learners with a range of learning needs, including autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD/ADD, mobility issues and sensory needs.

Our goal is to support students to become as independent as possible in their studies and give them the tools they need to succeed at college and in life.

Supported Study Sessions

The aim of Supported Study Sessions is to enhance independent learning and develop study skills. Students can bring their coursework and work independently with access to a support tutor. The sessions are small, with a maximum of ten students and are available every morning in the Additional Support Department.

Individual Support

Individual support is tailored to specific learning needs. This may include 1:1 support, in-class support or the provision of a quiet space at break times. This support will be fully discussed, agreed and reviewed with students on an individual basis.

Exam Arrangements

Students who need access arrangements in exams will be invited to an assessment session in the Additional Support Department at the beginning of term. It is important that you let us know about previous exam arrangements on your application form, at interview or you can speak to a Access Arrangements Assessor in Additional Support.
