WHAT WILL I STUDY?
If you enjoyed Biology at school and want to increase your specialist knowledge and understanding in a practical context that closely tracks the biological science that professionals use in the work place, then this is the course for you. Applied Biology is a two year course equivalent to one A level, but the approach is very different. There is a much greater emphasis on practical work and work-related simulations and you will produce structured assignments rather than having to memorise a large body of knowledge.

Single BTEC Level 3 (equivalent to 1 A Level)
Standard advanced course requirements plus
Grade 4 or above in GCSE Biology and another science GCSE
Grade 4/4 in GCSE Combined Science
Merit in a Level 2 Vocational Science

Applied Biology goes well with Sport, Health & Social Care and Psychology.
