Course Information

Who Is This For?
This course is for all levels of ability and experience, from complete beginners to those who wish to develop their skills. Students will be encouraged to learn from each other as well as from personal study.
What Will I Learn?
You will be exposed to various techniques and ideas to stimulate your own work. You will gain experience in different styles of art work. You will be introduced to the work of other artists and students.
Content of the Course
Tuition will be given on all materials and mediums used in collage and we will be looking at the work of a variety of collage artists. Step by step demonstrations will be given every session to enable students to create their own works of art and there will be a focus on helping each individual to find their personal style of mixed media painting. Students will be able to use the learning provided to practice and improve at home.
Assessment Details
By the end of the course you should be able to: Produce a variety of different types of mixed media collage. Have an understanding of the mediums used and a knowledge of collage materials and acrylic techniques
Teaching Methods
Topics will be introduced by teacher demonstration, through examples and discussions.
What's Next?
You can continue on the course to further develop your skills. Some students may wish to take their art education further, collecting a portfolio of work and applying to higher education courses in art.

Financial Information

If your course costs more than £200 you may apply to pay in three instalments.

You must complete and sign an instalment form. The first payment will be taken on application, followed by a further payment at the start of the course and a final payment 2 months later. Please note that a handling charge of 10% of the course fee (up to a maximum of £30) is added to all instalment payments. You will still be liable for the full cost of the course if you leave the course prior to all instalments being paid. Please contact the Registry Department on 01273 546604 for further information.

No refunds are given once a course has started. If a course is cancelled by the college you will receive a full refund of all fees paid. If you decide to cancel your enrolment before the class starts your payment will be refunded less a 20% administration charge (up to a maximum of £50). If you decide to cancel your enrolment for a Saturday workshop less than 72 hours before the class your payment will be refunded less an 80% administration charge.
