Course Information

Who Is This For?
This qualification is the natural progression for students who have successfully completed the CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling or its equivalent and want to take the next step in training to become a counsellor. It is also useful for people seeking a career change and who wish to attain accredited counsellor status in the future. Candidates should either have undertaken counselling skills training e.g. CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills or equivalent units/qualifications of at least 75 hours, (e.g NCFE counselling qualifications 1 and 2).
What Will I Learn?
Practical counselling skills for use at work or in a personal capacity whilst at the same time giving the opportunity to examine a number of theoretical counselling theories and models.

Assessment Details
External Assessment in the form of a written exam and Internal Assessment in the form of a portfolio.
Teaching Methods
Whole group work, small group work, pair work and triads.
What's Next?
This course offers progression onto the CPCAB Level 4 course which enable students to become a qualified counsellor. Students can also progress onto the Open University Foundation Degree or a Post Graduate course.

Financial Information

If your course costs more than £200 you may apply to pay in three instalments.

You must complete and sign an instalment form. The first payment will be taken on application, followed by a further payment at the start of the course and a final payment 2 months later. Please note that a handling charge of 10% of the course fee (up to a maximum of £30) is added to all instalment payments. You will still be liable for the full cost of the course if you leave the course prior to all instalments being paid. Please contact the Registry Department on 01273 546604 for further information.

No refunds are given once a course has started. If a course is cancelled by the college you will receive a full refund of all fees paid. If you decide to cancel your enrolment before the class starts your payment will be refunded less a 20% administration charge (up to a maximum of £50). If you decide to cancel your enrolment for a Saturday workshop less than 72 hours before the class your payment will be refunded less an 80% administration charge.
