Course Information

Who Is This For?
The course is for students who are complete beginners to the game or students who wish to consolidate their game before moving to the next level. Also students refreshing their game.
What Will I Learn?
The course will provide a sound introduction to the game. It will enable students to play and score with friends or at a Bridge club.
Content of the Course
Counting the cards Basic no Trump bidding and responding. Suit Bidding with another student. Opposition bids. Stayman Transfers Jump Bids Strong Bidding and Defence tactics, heads and signals.
Assessment Details
Weekly assessment.
Teaching Methods
Students will receive handouts with a lesson plan, follow notes on bidding and play, plus scoring. During the lesson, there is Bridge play with the rest of the group.

Financial Information

If your course costs more than £200 you may apply to pay in three instalments.

You must complete and sign an instalment form. The first payment will be taken on application, followed by a further payment at the start of the course and a final payment 2 months later. Please note that a handling charge of 10% of the course fee (up to a maximum of £30) is added to all instalment payments. You will still be liable for the full cost of the course if you leave the course prior to all instalments being paid. Please contact the Registry Department on 01273 546604 for further information.

No refunds are given once a course has started. If a course is cancelled by the college you will receive a full refund of all fees paid. If you decide to cancel your enrolment before the class starts your payment will be refunded less a 20% administration charge (up to a maximum of £50). If you decide to cancel your enrolment for a Saturday workshop less than 72 hours before the class your payment will be refunded less an 80% administration charge.
