Course Information

Who Is This For?
This course is aimed at students already playing socially or in a Bridge club. It will lead to improved advanced Bidding and play. Conventions, scoring, signals and solid play will all be covered.
What Will I Learn?
Students will learn advanced card play and patterns, ordinary bids, reverse suit bids, Jump bids in suits and no trumps. Conventions - how to bid slams in no trump suits. Defence play with partner, reading leads and signals. Knowing what to discard in no trumps and suits.

Card play combinations and patterns. Conventions. Slam Bidding. Leads in, no trumps and suits. Defence play and bidding. Signals. Discards in no trumps and bidding. Sacrifice Bidding. Reverse no trump patterns. Reverse suit Bidding.
Assessment Details
Individual assessment by tutor.
Teaching Methods
During the lesson students will play hands on conventions and different aspects of bidding and play with a social circle. Students will receive handouts.
What's Next?
After the course, the student will be ready to play a solid game of Bridge in a club or socially and score games.

Financial Information

If your course costs more than £200 you may apply to pay in three instalments.

You must complete and sign an instalment form. The first payment will be taken on application, followed by a further payment at the start of the course and a final payment 2 months later. Please note that a handling charge of 10% of the course fee (up to a maximum of £30) is added to all instalment payments. You will still be liable for the full cost of the course if you leave the course prior to all instalments being paid. Please contact the Registry Department on 01273 546604 for further information.

No refunds are given once a course has started. If a course is cancelled by the college you will receive a full refund of all fees paid. If you decide to cancel your enrolment before the class starts your payment will be refunded less a 20% administration charge (up to a maximum of £50). If you decide to cancel your enrolment for a Saturday workshop less than 72 hours before the class your payment will be refunded less an 80% administration charge.
