An introduction to photography which will develop your practical skills and your critical knowledge. You will learn about camera technique and shoot on location and in studio shoots. This is a practical and creative one-year course and you will study the work of photographers. You will explore different themes (e.g. landscape and portraiture) and also experimental approaches to photography (e.g. photomontage and digital manipulation).

There is a practical coursework unit and a practical examination. You do not need your own Digital SLR camera as you will be able to use College cameras, but there is a charge for materials. Students need to be committed to photography as there will be independent study tasks to complete each week. Some students are able to progress to A Level Photography the year after.
