We would like to extend a warm welcome to our Open Events which this year take place on:
Saturday 30 September 11am – 2pm
Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 November 6.30pm - 9.00pm
There will be the opportunity to explore the campus, visit classrooms, talk to tutors and students, meet the Principal and Vice Principal over tea and coffee, take a look at all our courses on offer and watch the college video presentation. There are good transport links, with the 5B bus stopping right at the gates, or Preston Park Station a 15 min walk away. If you are coming by car, unfortunately there is no parking on-site, but plenty of free street parking close by. Please remember not to park on verges as there is a particular prohibition on this around the college and traffic wardens do patrol the area.
For those students interested in finding out more about our International Baccalaureate Diploma, we will also be holding an additional International Baccalaureate Talk on
Thursday 19 October 6.30pm
In 2017 our overall pass rate at A level was 97.2% with 56% achieving A*-B and 78% achieving A*-C grades. More than two thirds of all A level subjects had a 100% pass rate. International Baccalaureate students averaged 36 points, the equivalent to three A grades at A Level.
Our college campus is unique in terms of its open, green surroundings, providing a stimulating learning environment in facilities which have recently been significantly upgraded. Students have a rich, broad and enjoyable experience throughout their time with us.
College students consistently achieve excellent results, thriving in an ethos that is supportive and respectful but at the same time challenging. We provide a friendly and welcoming environment where you can work and receive support with your studies. Equally important in helping students decide to come to Varndean was the feeling that the teaching staff was really enthusiastic about their subjects and there was a great relationship between staff and students. There is also a huge range of Enrichment Activities available.
“Because the environment is calm and caring, and the people in college are very friendly and welcoming.”

“Since the first time I came to an Open Evening, I loved the ambience of the College. It is very friendly and warm. It offered the IB, which I wanted to do.”
