At Varndean College, Principal Phil Harland is delighted the college has maintained its impressive A level results record, adding to the outstanding achievements earlier this summer in the International Baccalaureate.
An overall pass rate of 97.3% at A Level was achieved, with over 52% of students being awarded A* and B grades and 76% A* - C grades. 10% of students achieved the coveted A* grade.
Two thirds of subjects achieved 100% pass rate.
Phil said “Our students deserve their success - they have worked hard for it and have shown what they can do; their achievements are also a tribute to the tremendous efforts my staff have put in throughout the year. Those studying at AS level achieved a pass rate of 88%. Phil added “I am particularly pleased to see the proportion of A - C grades improve by 4%.”
Varndean College is the only Sixth Form College in the area to be selected by the International Baccalaureate Organisation to offer the IB Diploma.
