Questions

Will I be coming into college for my lessons?

All your lessons will be onsite / in college.

ID Cards

Once you have collected your ID card you will now need this to access the college building and register/sign in for your lessons. For track and trace purposes as well as general safeguarding we need to know who is onsite at all times.

Lateral Flow Testing

Before you begin lessons full time, we are requesting that you take 2 onsite tests, in the week beginning 6th September. Tests are 3 days apart and the day you have your test is determined by which year group you are in. (See chart below). Our testing team is very approachable and will make sure this experience is not something you need to be anxious or worried about. However, we do have some additional wellbeing support available in the Hall all week.

Before we can give you your test appointment we will need you to complete a new consent form here: https://forms.gle/jWKtR6NA4wfmvHbB8

If you have tested positive in the last 90 days you do not need to have the onsite tests but we would encourage you to resume twice weekly testing at home once you are back in College.

Wellbeing and Support

All of our wellbeing and support services are here onsite and you will be able to choose if you would prefer face to face meetings or online/ telephone meetings. Our wellbeing space is open for you to use.

Enrichment

There will still be many enrichment opportunities for you at college. Our Freshers Fair will give you further details of this once term starts.

Study Periods/Breaks

You will be able to study in college as per usual, our library is open to all students as well as Room 18 and there are study spaces throughout the college.

Catering Facilities

Are available on site. We have made some changes to our café so we can accommodate more students safely. Seating is available in the cafe for you to study with your friends.

Face Coverings

These are not a requirement onsite but they are recommended in public spaces. Many of our staff will wear see-through visors. If you do remove your face covering onsite please ensure that you put it away in a case or small bag for hygiene reasons.

Public Transport / Getting to College

You are still required to wear a face covering on public transport. We have bicycle racks at college for you to store your bike.

We have a very robust risk assessment to make sure we have thought of everything possible. In brief this includes:

  • Ventilation in all classrooms and public spaces
  • Regular Lateral Flow Testing
  • Regular deep cleaning of the whole site
  • Cleaning is carried out continuously during the day
  • Hand sanitising stations
  • Reducing student contact onsite
  • Swipe in entry and exit system so we know who is onsite
