The Childcare and Education department have had various visiting speakers over the past week. Firstly, was a visit from Annie Clarry, a play specialist/therapist from ‘Playful Therapy’, talking about working in play therapy, what a play therapist is, how to become a play therapist, and supporting children through trauma and additional needs. Annie gave the students an honest picture of working as a play therapist, including the very real challenges of the role.
Other speakers have included; Justin Parker and Jessica Linford from ‘Vision for Education’. Students were given advice about writing a CV, interview techniques, filling in application forms and applying for jobs within the education sector.
