On Wednesday 19 March Varndean College’s 2025 IB Art Exhibition celebrated the creativity, conceptual depth, and technical skill of this year’s IB Visual Arts students.
A highlight of the exhibition was the work of the Visual Arts prize-winning student Anageem Elfarouq, whose painting was selected as the official publicity poster. Her evocative composition masterfully captured the essence of time’s movement – sometimes steady, sometimes erratic – encouraging viewers to reflect on their own perceptions of its passage. Rich in symbolism and intricate detail, her work stood out as a compelling visual interpretation of her theme The Passage of Time.
Anageem’s exceptional artistic vision earned her the IB Visual Arts Prize, recognising both her technical excellence and her hard work throughout the course. The exhibition as a whole served as a testament to the talent and dedication of this year’s IB artists, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
