Year 2 students Isobel Brewster and Amber Hill have been awarded Early Years ‘Students of the Month’ after volunteering to help reception teachers at Telscombe Cliffs Primary school with their zoom lessons. Teaching phonics and maths to 60 children aged 4-5 online is no mean feat. Microphones are muted, apart from the teacher, so hand gestures and facial expressions are used to support children’s learning. Isobel has also recorded a video telling a story for the children to listen to. Both students have done so well, they were asked to go into the school to support key worker sessions. Well done Isobel and Amber.
