Varndean College Student Successes in UK Maths Challenge

Students at Varndean College achieved 4 golds, 10 silvers and 11 bronzes in this year's UKMT Senior Maths Challenge. Over 80,000 pupils from across the UK returned scripts with the top 10% receiving a gold certificate, the next 20% silver and the next 30% bronze.

Approximately 7,000 of the top students are invited to sit one of the follow-on competitions, the British Mathematical Olympiad (BMO1) or the Senior Kangaroo (SKANG). Dylan Ponsford and Eddy Stevens from Varndean College were selected to take part in the SKANG and congratulations to Emilia Frederiksen and Yanlei Chen who qualified to enter the BMO1.
