Monday evening from 7 - 8.30 pm

9-week course starting on 21/1/19. Courses run termly.

Learning Support Assistant (Additional Support)

Hours:  23 hours a week (spread over 5 days) or 18 hours (spread over 4 days with Monday off)

Part Time/Term-time only (39 weeks per year)

Salaries are on Band 3 of SFCA Support Staff Pay Scales -£18,494 per annum pro rata.

You will have excellent communication and listening skills, experience of working with or caring for young people in an educational setting and a clear understanding of the particular needs of students aged 16 – 19.

IT Services Administrator


Hours: 21 hours, Term Time only (39 weeks a year)

Sixth Form Colleges Forum SFCA Support Staff salary spine – Band 2, Pt 18 - £17,100 per annum (pro rata).

Actual salary £8,249.59 per annum


We are looking for an IT Services Administrator to help assist with the smooth running and effectiveness of College-wide IT support.  As our IT Services Administrator, you will receive and respond to user queries and log routine and complex problems onto the helpdesk logging system.  You will also assist with routine day-to-day tasks for our IT team and supervise the use of the Open Access room.

The post will be the first point of contact for all callers to the HelpDesk.  Answering incoming calls and dealing with direct requests regarding technical support issues.

The candidate will demonstrate the ability to work within a busy and sometimes demanding environment using initiative to problem solve. Previous customer service experience and proven computer skills are essential requirements.

Previous experience of working in IT support or in FE/Higher Education is desirable.

International Student Manager


Salary:                         £30,564-£32,961 pa plus £5,787 pa allowance


Hours:                          37 hours a week

Responsible for:          International marketing team



The successful candidate will attend and contribute to worldwide workshops and student fairs hosted at Universities/School/Colleges and other locations.


This role will require someone to come on board to maintain existing relationships and to develop mutually beneficial relations with agencies, agents, key stakeholders and other partners.


 They will be required to provide market intelligence by identifying new patterns of student mobility and student demand. The successful candidate is expected to hit set targets by attracting new students in our existing markets but also to identify new opportunities.


The role requires the candidate to be confident in approaching and tackling challenges by developing strategic relationships with our overseas partners and in working with College staff to develop and deliver a personalised programme of study.


The successful candidate will have knowledge of the UK College/FE sector and the challenges it faces in international marketing and recruitment as well as an excellent understanding of how marketing can best be applied in an international student recruitment context.

Adult CounsellingTutor 

We currently looking for qualified Counselling Tutors to teach an adult education class on a level 4 - Therapeutic Counselling course at Varndean College from 2.30 pm on to 8.30 pm every Tuesday.

This is a sessional hours contract starting in September 2019.   

Successful candidates must have a postgraduate diploma in counselling and a recognised teaching qualification.
