An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, proactive and enthusiastic Payroll Manager to join our busy team. You will be responsible for the full payroll function of approximately 300 Varndean staff, with a part time Payroll Assistant to support you. The successful candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of payroll and pension processes supported by payroll qualifications or equivalent experience, be able to calculate complicated pay adjustments and will be proficient in the use of payroll software and other IT packages (experience with Cintra desirable). They will be expected to have excellent attention to detail and accuracy at all times, and the ability to manage time and meet deadlines.

An opportunity has arisen for a skilful and energetic practitioner to lead our successful Chemistry team. The Chemistry Department consists of one full-time member of staff and two part-time teachers one of whom also acts as Laboratory Technician. It is a lively department and services both IB and A level Chemistry. We are actively involved in many projects. The department runs the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge (C3L6) in Yr1 and the RSC Chemistry Olympiad in Yr2. In addition, we run the Analytical Competition run by the Royal Society of Chemistry and offer the Cambridge Chemistry Race both in Yr1. We have strong links with both the local universities and Southampton University too.

To be successful, you will have a passion for working with young people with a relevant degree, experience, and a recognised teaching qualification.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and suitably qualified teacher of Business to support our Business department on a casual basis. Hours available would be dependent on business requirement and candidate availability, however there are up to 5 days cover per week required up to the end of the academic year. To be successful, you will have a relevant degree and a recognised teaching qualification. Applications from ECTs and experienced teachers from Sixth Form Colleges, FE Colleges and Schools are welcome.
