It's with great regret that our upcoming Open Day has had to be CANCELLED.

In the planning of the event we sought advice from the DFE, Public Health Team and Brighton & Hove City Council in making the decision and were given the green light to go ahead with measures in place. As you will be aware, we had stringent and robust measures in place, including holding all conversations outdoors on our front field, a booking system, face coverings, hand hygiene, enhanced cleaning and ventilation, and contact details for all participants for Test and Trace purposes. We also ensured a robust risk assessment was in place.

However, given the increasing measures across England and the rest of the UK, Education and Skills at Brighton & Hove City Council have contacted me this morning to let me know that they are now not recommending any open events at schools in the City. We realise what a disappointment this will be. We had decided to hold this event as we know just how important it is for our young people in the city to see colleges before they make the important decision in choosing which is the right college for them. As I'm sure you will understand, we feel compelled to follow the advice to cancel the event, given the circumstances.

Do come and visit us at one of our Open Events to find out more and discover for yourself what is unique about Varndean College. We look forward to meeting you.
